Welcome to the Human Brain Mapping Laboratory

Research in the Human Brain Mapping Lab aims to map functional networks in the human brain, by working with patients with epilepsy who have electrodes implanted in, or on, their brains as preparation for surgery to treat their seizures.

We use recordings from these electrodes, electrical brain stimulation, and functional MRI to study:

  • human brain networks in the resting state

  • the neural mechanisms of cognitive abilities such as attention, visual processing, and language

  • how to identify the brain areas involved in seizure generation

Our lab is part of the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research and the Comprehensive Epilepsy Care Center at North Shore University Hospital.
