Hearing Health Foundation grant awarded!

We were awarded the Hearing Health Foundation Emerging Research Grant Oct 2024-Oct 2026! This work focuses on how the brain integrates various acoustic features to make sense of out surroundings and how this ability changes with age. More information can be found in the Research tab as well as here: https://hearinghealthfoundation.org/meet-the-researcher/anahita-mehta-2025

This project is led by Carrie and Tess. Our collaborators are Dr. Kelly Whiteford and Dr. Renee Banakis Hartl.

Jackson and Carrie presented their research at the Midwinter meeting of the Association for Research in Otolaryngology in Anaheim, CA. Carrie presented her ongoing project using the auditory kappa effect to understand how factors like pitch and space influence perception of relative timing in auditory sequences. Jackson presented his ongoing project using rate-place metamers for understanding how the auditory system processes stimuli with multiple pitches, such as musical chords. More details on both projects can be found in the research tab. Great job, team!
